Just a quick update from Brunei sydney-siders.. If d last entry post was abt I went to Indonesian Independence Day Celebration... and this tym... I've got the chance to go to Malaysian Independence Day Celebration too..
There were two major events held by the Malaysian Society in Sydney, in conjunction to their Independence Day. The first event started off as early as two weeks before their actual day and the other one was on the Independence Day itself. PLUSS... I went to both d events..Biasa org Brunei... terlampau iski bah.. hahahaha
The first event was called as Malam Gema Merdeka wiv d theme of "SPIRIT: Reigniting the flames of Patriotism". This was basically a cultural musical performance theater-like. It was something new and experience for those like me who never go to this kind of thing. If u watched HSM (high school musical btw).. so samalah in such a way... but this one.. watching live lah.. wat else wud u expect ryt from this cultural musical performance theater..so basically, d programme for d nyt were the acting, singing and dancing.. (du-uuuuhhh~)...

Joe is a pessimistic radical youth who has very much been a loner for most of his life. He keeps everyone at arm's length with the exception of Alisa, his one and only true friend who has been with him through thick and thin. Even though, they have been childhood friends, Joe frequently dismisses Alisa especially when it comes to her passion for her country and her unwavering patriotism. One day, Alisa invites Joe to one of the many Malaysian events that she constantly pesters him to attend. At the same time, Joe is also invited by an acquaintance to a very different event. Joe is faced with conundrum. He has to make a choice. Little does he know that decision will affect his past, present and future in a very literal manner.
To cut it short, Joe is a sort of social guy who doesnt believe in history and trying to modernise the younger future generation...
It was a wake-up called for me after watching this theater. It made me realised this situation is somehow happening in Brunei too. Reminiscing back in d past to the present one and wat wud happen in d future especially if d youth terlampau ikut2an budaya org barat.. so it's for u to choose now... whether u 1 2 be dat kind of youth or ....?
The other event was just the Malaysian festival. Similar to perayaan like in Brunei lah. So, shall we just ask the pics to describe everyting yeah...

Preparations by the malaysian before the show:
scene 1: a fine morning ; Joe and his family is introduced along with Alisa
Scene 2: At the university; Joe is under scrutiny by his lecturer for failing a history paper and for his atitude.
Scene 3: Friends get together; what happens when a group of friends get together and share their dangerous beliefs with one another.
Scene 4: The crossroads; Joe is at crossroads of decisions which will ultimately decides his fate..
Scene 5: The spirit of the past; Joe meets the Host. He is given the ultimatum of life or death.
Scene 6: year 1935; Brought to a time where the Japanese occupied Malaya, Joe comes to terms with hertage
Scene 7: Year 1955; The host shows Joe the struggles of his ancestor to overcome their hardship and oppression against the invaders.
Scene 8: The bonus prize; See how Joe's parents come to behave the way they are in the present
Scene 9: The hospital; the parents come to term with their son's accident and finally come to a resolve with each other.
Scene 10: The spirit of the present; the hautingly adorable spirit of present makes her appearance and continue Joe's lesson
Scene 11: MGM ; Joe see what he has missing all these while right in front of his eyes.
